Auckland - The City of Sails
Currently rated the third most livable city in the world, Auckland is New Zealand's largest city with around 1.5 million people now calling it home. A culturally diverse city, it is known for its range of art, culture, music and food and is one the gateways to the rest New Zealand.
Auckland was built between two harbours and is surrounded by 50 volcanic cones all around the city. This provides an amazing mix of everything from beaches, forests, mountains and a busy city centre.

Auckland City Half Day Explorer Tour
This half day tour is a great way to introduce yourself to the city and see all that Auckland has to offer.
This quick introductory tour of Auckland takes you on a guided journey from the Auckland waterfront, at Auckland’s Viaduct where we travel along Tamaki Drive towards Mission Bay.
The tour goes via Paratai Drive, one of New Zealand's richest streets, full of amazing homes and gorgeous views overlooking the city and harbour.
Our first stop of the tour is at Mission Bay. Mission Bay is a seaside suburb of Auckland, is well known for its white sand and picturesque views.
After stopping at Mission Bay, feel free to take a short walk along the beach, taking in the views of the sea, looking back at the beautiful Auckland skyline and Rangitoto Island across the Mission Bay harbor.
Bastion Point, at the west end of Mission Bay, offers a fantastic view over the entrance to the Waitemata Harbour and was used for the defence of Maori settlers and in later times, of Auckland City. Mission Bay is also known for its famous fountain, pictured above, which is located in the middle of the Mission Bay reserve, sending water as high as 12 metres into the air and was a gift to the city from the family of Sir Ernest Davis, a previous mayor of Auckland.
The tour continues from Mission Bay we head up through the upmarket suburbs of Orakei, Remuera and Parnell, famous for their boutique shops and cafes.
From Parnell we head up through the Auckland Domain to see the impressive Auckland War Museum where you can watch a Maori cultural show, visit the winter gardens or Wintergarden café to sample some of Auckland's world class coffee.
From the Auckland Domain we drive further inland to a couple of famous landmarks to end the tour. Mount Eden & One Tree Hill are well known Auckland landmarks, famous for their 360 degree views of Auckland's skyline and coast line.
Take some photos of the gorgeous views of the city and hear about Auckland city’s history.
